It was a chaotic day recently in the Bhedaghat area near Jabalpur when several members of the Karni Sena disrupted the shooting of Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Dunki’. The protesters, holding black and saffron flags in their hands, raised slogans for some time and were also seen chanting Hanuman Chalisa. The Karni Sena members insisted that the ‘Dunki’ makers should stop shooting.
The situation rapidly got out of control and the local police had to be called in to contain the situation. To bring the situation to a peaceful end, a heavy police force was deployed in the area and the protesters were dispersed. However, the shootings were not stopped and they continued as planned, despite the threats.
The reason behind this protest is Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ has been mired in controversy ever since its trailer was released. The movie has been facing opposition from various Hindu outfits who are protesting against the use of saffron color in Deepika Padukone’s costume in the ‘Pathaan’ song ‘Besharam Rang’.
The controversy surrounding ‘Pathaan’ is set to continue in the coming days. It will be interesting to see if Shah Rukh Khan and the producers of the movie respond to the protests and if the issue gets resolved. No matter what happens, one thing is for sure: the controversy surrounding ‘Pathaan’ is sure to keep everyone talking for some time.
